4-H Horse Project

April 30th is the Jackson County 4-H Horse Project at the Jackson County Fair Park Animal Show Arena, Highway 54W in Black River Falls.

It begins at 10AM with a Horse Safety Clinic for project members only, but from Noon-3PM a Haul-in Clinic is open to all area horse owners. There will also be tack swap tables.

WWIS Home Show

This Saturday April 9th is the WWIS Home Show 2011 from 8AM to 3PM at the Milt Lunda Memorial Arena in Black River Falls.

There will be 50 displays along with demonstrations by Karner Blue Garden Club. Admission is free and food will be provided by the Black River Falls Lions Club.

Give Blood

March is Red Cross Month. The American Red Cross will be holding Blood Drives next week in Jackson County. You can donate and save lives by visiting one of these locations:

Melrose-Mindoro High School in Melrose on Monday March 28th 11AM to 5PM
Or
Lincoln High School in Alma Center Wednesday March 30th 11AM to 5PM

Ice Fishing in Hatfield

Hatfield Sports Shop and the Hatfield Sportmen Club will be hosting their Fourth Annual Ice Fishing Tourney Saturday, February 26th 7AM to 3PM.

Register at the Hatfield Sport Shop and then head out on Lake Arbutus. Entry fee is $5, and there will be food and drink, entertainment and prizes.

Ice Racing

Check out one of the oldest events on the CWIRA tour - this Sunday head to the Hatfield ATV & Motorcycle Ice Races at Russell Park.

Gates open at 8AM, practice at 9AM, and the first race at 11AM. There will be refreshment in the heated food shelter. Admission is $5 - 12 and under are free, making this a great event for the whole family.
